Access and set up your n8n VPS

1) Get credentials

After provisioning, you should have:

• Server IP

• Username (often root)

• Password or SSH key details

2) SSH into the server

• macOS / Linux:

  • ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP

• Windows:

  • Use Windows Terminal or PuTTY.

3) Typical n8n setup (recommended)

• Run n8n with Docker.

• Put it behind a reverse proxy with HTTPS.

• Persist data to disk.

Don’t expose n8n without auth. Use HTTPS and strong credentials.
